Oh, grumble …
Just found out that my department is hiring someone. She starts in two weeks. She’ll be filling a new position that didn’t exist before she was hired.
I am to be numbered among her other responsibilities. This means that I will no longer report directly to the big boss, but to her. That isn’t necessarily bad, since it means that she’ll have to attend most of the meetings that I had to go to before. (big fat grin)
It does mean that I will no longer have my little trailer in the middle of the parking lot at the far end of nowhere all to myself anymore. She’s getting the office at the other end. I strongly suspect my internet activities will have to be strongly curtailed.
I have always decorated my end of the trailer with Christmas lights. Looks like, this year, I’m going to have to buy two new strands of lights so I can decorate her end of the trailer too. To just decorate mine would seem rather selfish, and I don’t have enough lights to do the whole thing. I hope somebody has a good sale going.
I’m bummed.
