A time for calm.

A plane down in Queens. I know better, but my mind jumps ahead of events. It’s telling how much I (and others) are still affected by September 11. Never before would I have immediately put terrorism at the top of my list of differentials. But I recognize this as a weakness in myself, and am ashamed of it.

The reactions of people around me mystify. Intensify the call to arms, name calling, the need to blame a known enemy. Let it rest, people. Let it be. It doesn’t help our case to blindly blame. We have reason enough for war without the need to manufacture or jump to conclusions. Either this was due to foul play or not. No point in calling for justice until we know where the guilt lies. The experts have this in hand. Let them do their job. Let it be.

Regardless. My petty problem pales in comparison. My site meter will tell all in the end anyhow. Future actions will be determined by facts, not fears. May my fellow countrymen follw the same philosophy on matters more grave than my small problems.

I am back.
