The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals. As far back as the sabertooth tiger.

Yet another one of those days. Rain, and lots of it, which guarantees I’ll be called out of my office often. I already have been in and out the door more times this morning than I’ve been the rest of the week combined. Makes for a good exercise program, I guess.

Before the day heated up, I spotted a couple of interesting articles on CNN. The first deals with a creature that they hear but can’t find in the deeps of the ocean. Tuning in to a deep sea monster called up images of Verne’s “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea” for me. It’s nice to know that there are still some mighty big mysterious animals still left to discover.

The other article is a little more serious … and scary. Low-risk virus can infect photos – ‘Potentially no file type could be safe’ is the first I read of viruses that don’t need an executable file to do their dirty work. This particular new computer virus doesn’t do any damage, but by using the principles behind this virus one that could do damage could be created. And you know that if it *could* be done, it will be done. I already scan all incoming email before opening it, but it just keeps getting harder and harder to keep my computer virus free. I’ll have to check Symantek’s web site later to see if they have any info on this one.

And while we’re on the subject of computer annoyances, has anyone else hit that annoying new pop-up yet? I’m talking about the one that jumps everytime you position your cursor over the “X” that closes the frame, and makes the frame run away from you? I remember one of these appeared last year, but was a fairly short lived phenomenon. It’s as if the pop-up advertisers have discovered a way to get a foot into the door of your computer. I have this mental image of the cursor carrying a little broom around, swatting at the offending frame as I chase it and try to kill it. Yes, I finally got wise and killed the frame from task manager, but that only kills the frame, not the aggravation.

But enough of that. Let’s talk about my favorite subject. Me. Uh … I watched another episode of “The Prisoner” with The Prof. I played fetch with ACfH until my arm got tired. (Note that the Grey Marvel did not get tired.) I worked on a lot of ACfH photoes last night. I got to bed at a reasonable time.

Guess there’s a reason I talked about news articles and pop-up ads today….

I downloaded a free popup killer that I just love, but "they" get crafty and change them slightly so the popup appears new.
