Yet another Liver Parody

It’s been too long since the last one.

My Liver New

Taking shameless advantage of the song “New York, New York”, Written by Fred Ebb/ John Kander

Let me say for the record that making parodies would be much easier if “liver” were a one-syllable word

Start spreadin’ the news, you’re going away.

You have outlived your part of it, my sick Liver.

Your vagabond tricks led you far astray

And now I’ve no more heart for it, my sick Liver.

I wanna wake up with a liver that I can keep

And you’ll be tossed in the dump, top of the heap.

My cirrhosis blues will all melt away

I’ll make a brand new start of it, with liver new

And when Doc grafts it there I’ll take it everywhere

My new liver, my liver new

I wanna wake up with liver that I can keep

I find I’ve got a high MELD, topping the List

Transplant awaits, B-negative ….

This sickness and woe will all melt away

I’m gonna make a brand new start of it with Liver new

A-a-a-nd when Doc grafts it there, I’ll take it everywhere

My new liver, my liver new!

  1. Back at you, Pali. 🙂 The world is a better place for people like you. </mush>

And for folks like your car dealer! I mean, that man has renewed my faith in salesmen.

  2. I value our friendship and I look forward to the day when we meet in person. Your never-ending support with my "back-to-school" adventure has been a souce of strenght. I won’t even go into detail about all the math problems you have helped me with, both at the 7th grade and college level.

    Happy 2nd Anniversary at DD!

Awesome news about the CD player. Baubles are always an appropriate subsitute. :))

  3. glad you’re here, glad you stayed. grateful for your kind words and great entries. thank you for sharing a little bit of your life. hope you get a great bauble!

    and…

here’s hoping you get that new liver soon!!!!

    🙂

  4. Sorry about those morning glories. Maybe some netting would help? I hope you get a bauble, too! I want you to get a nice, couple of pound, double-lobed, kinda squishy "garnet." But the sparkly kind are nice, too. Oh, and happy anniversary!

  5. awwww Pali, don’t cha know you’re so easy to love.

You’ve brought us all some warming moments and sprinkled humor on a heavy heart more than once.

You got me again with your liver song.lol

    I love your head =)

  6. Happy DD anniversary!! It IS an interesting place with an interesting mix of people. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, lol….I think the good greatly outweighs the bad in this place.

Something ate my morning glory tops, too. The moonflower seem to be doing fine, though. You might be dealing with slugs as they tend to like those things. Try putting out a saucer of beer and see what happens…

Shiny baubles are always appropriate and should be handed out much more freely by the gentlemen in our lives, lol. A nice bauble beets a good frying pan any day 🙂

    Take Care,

    Bobbi
