Yes, no and maybe.

Yes, the temperature reached 80° F (17° C) and continues to climb. My office is in direct sunlight in the afternoons, and the temp in here is 88° F (31° C) at the moment. Or rather, it was 88° half an hour ago. I’m too hot, and can’t be motivated to get up and check the thermostat yet again.

No, the heat pump is still not working. Mr. Maintenance Man stopped by a bit earlier, apologized for the continued lack of life support, and told me he can’t get the parts he needs locally and is now in the process of attempting to contact the manufacturer. I joked that it might be easier to simply replace the entire unit. He didn’t smile when he agreeed that yes, perhaps it would be easier.

Maybe I’ll get some relief from this when I drive home, and can adjust the temperature in my car to my liking. I’ve sweated straight through my tee-shirt though, and I’m seriously considering passing out as a viable option to enduring this heat. I can’t even open the windows or door to my office to get some cooler air in. There’s construction directly outside my window, as well as other dust/contaminants in the air, and my current immunosuppressed state prohibits that sort of atmosphere.

I must have gotten much wimpier after my surgery. I remember a time when the heat wouldn’t have bothered me nearly as much.

And I’m thinking of moving to Arizona??????? I must be out of my mind.
