I have been trying to reach my doctor’s office since 9:00 this morning (it’s now nearly 10:00). It has been wall-to-wall busy signal, for the most part.
I did get through once, but it was the answering service who picked up. I asked them what time the office would start accepting calls. She told me 9:15. I thanked her, hung up, and looked at my watch. It was 9:16.
Their phone continues to be busy. I hang-up, redial, hang-up, redial. Someone watching might assume I’m trying to get through to a local radio station to win free tickets to the upcoming Queensryche concert. This contest feels a little more urgent, though.
