New Kitten.

The friend I went to Boston with has nineteen cats. I think I may have mentioned this in my diary previously. She’s an absolute sucker for a cat in need. The clinic where she practices at took in a homeless kitten while she was in Boston last week. They named it “Twenty” in her absence, and have been giving her a hard sell about taking the kitten home. She’s a little grey fluffball, about ten weeks old.

I happened to mention to my friend last week that I was half looking for a kitten to keep my Clueless Wonder company. He is constantly rebuffed by the Warrior Princess (The Professor’s cat) and I’d like to find him a companion that he can curl up with and do mutual grooming thing. She called me yesterday to find out if I’d be interested in taking the kitten.

The Professor was totally awesome. Three cats in our apartment are probably approaching critical feline mass, but he’s just as anxious as I to take the kitten in. We’ll pick the little fluff ball up on Sunday. It’s lucky that The Professor won’t be teaching until September – he can help everybody get acclimated to each other during the next few weeks.

I spoke with my friends in cyberspace last night about what to name her, and have now amassed a list of over a hundred suggestions. I like a good few of the names, but none have “hit” me yet. I suspect I’m going to have a good time over the next few days trying to come up with something. I’m going to need a new collar, and ID tag, and a food dish, and kitten chow…. oooh, this is going to be fun!
