Can we say “ridiculous”, boys and girls? Yes, I heard again from the mental midgets who man the email at Double Day Books. I’m done trying to talk with them. I’ve gotten more intelligent responses from ACfH. It is my most avid of hopes that, some day, one of their PR people stumbles across this…
(Feel free to sing title to the tune of “When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano”.) I remarked to the Prof several times this summer that with the old oak gone out front (see entry from January 17, 2011: Like An Oak On The Wire regarding that sad day) the squirrels on our property seemed…
then come on over here and sit by me. Yeah, OK, I stole it from Steel Magnolias, which probably stole it from somewhere else. It sounds like it should be a Dorothy Parkerism, but what do I know? I tried Googling it, and came up empty handed. It seems my day to be ratting on…
I think I’m mostly recuperated from my big concert adventure now. I have to reiterate that a day of exhaustion was absolutely a price worth paying for seeing that show. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any more concert tickets in the near future though. Worth it or not, I can only pay this price…
There’s an old wive’s tale that a salamander can pass through fire unharmed. In real life, many salamanders can shed their tail to escape danger, essentially giving up a less critical part of themselves to save everything that is important. Salamanders go through a metamorphic life cycle, changing from one aspect to another as they…
my world had not yet been turned on its ear. Pardon this entry. It is the maudlin musings that have been dwelling and building deep within me for a year now. I try not to let them out to exercise too often. But today, this once, I will allow them to taste the air and…
I don’t know what to say – it doesn’t sound like it’s a good thing for those lyrics to fit…
Hope you’re okay. 🙂
hope everything is okay.
Hm, a dominance game.
I don’t know if I’d like that album. Do they have any happy tunes?

If I was a work of art, I would be Pablo Picasso’s Three Musicians. I am colourful and provoking, always looking to break out of the mould and to pioneer new ways of doing things. I have a jaunty outlook and although I am a bit weird, most people have some idea what I’m about.
You know I laughed a little at one question. My favorite subject is literature, but I’m the best at science…
i was gonna comment in here, then got distracted with the test 🙂 it was here i read it… i love the scream… i feel so united with it sometimes!
lol… are salamanders related to lizards? =)
i took it several times checking all kinds of stuff, because i am just as much an outdoor lover as i am an indoor lover – indoors when i feel like being ‘techie’ and outdoors when i’m in a wild mood to dance in the rain or get into a bikini and lay out in the summer sun =)
anyway… gotta go hit my books… its already 1pm here! ACCCCKKKKK! I hate sleeping in!
