KfH and The Monster Bag

Kitten from Hell might be growing bigger, but she isn’t gaining much in the way of grace or stealth (or intelligence, I fear). We ordered Chinese last night. My excuse was that I’m still feeling too wiped to cook when I get home. Our order came in a big brown grocery-style bag with twine handles. And we all know how much KfH loves big brown bags.

The handles weren’t something she’d counted on though. She attempted to get into the bag by squeezing through one of the handles. Don’t ask me why; they didn’t give us courses in abnormal kitten psychology in vet school. As might have been predicted, the handle got caught at belly level, just under her hind legs.

She panicked when she realized that The Monster Bag had grabbed her, and started tearing up and down the hallway in an attempt to outrun the Bag. Monster Bag, of course, kept pace with her the entire time. Finally she flopped on her side, stretched out, and started some of the most pitiful mewing I’ve heard come from any of the cats to date. The act of stretching out pulled her free of Monster Bag. When she realized that, she walked away disdainfully, giving the Bag a wide berth the remainder of the evening.

As for me, I got out of work at six, went home, showered, napped, got up, ate Chinese, dosed myself with codeine cough syrup, and returned to bed. And then got up at six this morning to do the whole thing over again. Which makes for really boring diary entries.
