I hope it’s just excess milk. :/ I remember reading that Jonathan Hill, the cattle cloner, suggested the large size of many clones may be due to problems in the placenta. Something to do with water retention under the skin.
I remember also that was a problem with cloned mice, who were like 4 times bigger than normal mice with a placenta even more disproportionate in size. Other mice tended to gain weight even if on the same diet and exercise regime as their slimmer counterparts.
