Warrior Princess with a Problem

After we got home last night, The Prof spent some “quality time” with his “kee-kee” cat. Ya gotta pity the “kee-kee”.

We still have The Prof’s old television and its cabinet tucked to one side of the living room. I have no idea what he’s planning to do with it – we barely watch the new television he got. Still, it’s useful for storage, and we may have need of it at the new apartment. The top shelf in the cabinet is empty, and the Prof took it into his head last night to incarcerate his Warrior Princess within it, to see if she could figure out how to get out. (Getting out really should have been a no-brainer for her, since all she would have needed to do is push on the door.) Poor WP decided she’d rather sit there and mew pitifully, though.

She clearly didn’t like being in there (big surprise) but she seemed to be enjoying all the extra attention at the same time. I guess that’s the privelege of being royalty. You don’t have to make sense.

To no one’s surprise, ACfH had to get into the action. As soon as she heard WP mewing and scrabbling at the door, ACfH was on the job, checking things out and looking to see if she couldn’t find any way in there herself.

Clueless, on the other hand, settled down within full sight of the spectacle. he didn’t want any part of it himself, but he was willing to see how things played out (from a safe distance, of course). Who says Clueless is dumb?

The Prof finally took pity on WP and opened the door for her. With freedom now within reach, she decided she’d best act like she didnt’ care, and so ignored the fact that the door was now open. The Professor and ACfH sat with rapt attention. Warrior-Princess-vision … better than television.

In other news, the four year warranty I purchased for the Prof’s digital camera paid for itself today. When we returned the camera to Best Buy, they said that it couldn’t be fixed, and told him he’d get a replacement camera. When we went to get the replacement camera, though, we found that they no longer sold his model. The replacement model didn’t have as many features, and the Prof was disappointed in having to replace his camera with it. We then found that we could upgrade to a better camera for simply the difference of what we paid and what the new camera cost. Considering I bought this digital a year and a half ago for him, and that digitals have come down in price since then, that meant we could get a really nice camera for only a little more money. He’s off in the next room playing with his new camera now. I think he’s happy.

  1. Ok, so many comments…

    1. Violets (both purple and white) grow in my backyard every year behind my lilac bush.

    2. We also have a stream in our backyard…ok, we’ve a revine in the backyard. Great place, if the people wouldn’t dump things down it, and if the cemetary on the otherside wasn’t eroding away (it’s kinda steep, erodes more on each side each year…pretty soon, we think we’ll be seeing caskets on one side, and our shed down the other).

    3. Someone in our area has a mystery machine! :o)

I’ll take a picture of it one day this summer for you. Of all of that, if possible. :o)

  2. Great pics, Sal! Thanks for sharing them! I’d love to get a digital camera, what kind do you have? I got some pix back today, and I’m just fed up with my little old 35 mm autofocus job.

I have to say, I love the "Mystery Machine"… I get so tired of seeing car after car that all look exactly the same; I appreciate the crazy nonconformists. 😉

  3. i love the park pictures! haven’t seen that kind of greenery around here yet…

so, how long did it take the warrior princess to descend from her cage while the prof and acfh looked on? that’s quite a bunch you’ve got there, fair maiden.

when i had a huge, yellow, chrysler lebaron in college, i decorated it with suction cup hanging plants, rubber spiders, bugs, and two anatomically correct baby dolls buckled in the front seat next to me. gave me a few smiles.

  4. LOL! That has to be the funniest thing I’ve seen all week. The Mystery machine…teehee.

I’ve been trying to go to your diary for over a month now and it hasn’t worked! Weird isn’t it? Well I have to say is the pictures are beautiful and so are your kitties, hopefully the next time I try to drop by, the site will work *crosses fingers*

  6. Wow, I love the pictures!!! Everything is so green. The pictures of WP and ACfH are hilarious. I bet it was quite interesting to watch. Makes me wish I would have thought to take pictures of our hamster jumping off the craft table into a paper bag (taped to the edge for trash) over and over again. I think she thought she was at Disneyland! Who needs t.v. when you have animals?
