Another Snowy Day in Pictures

When I went to bed at two this morning, it was snowing. When I got up this morning, it was still snowing. The results of ten additional hours of snowfall were obvious.

The Socialist spent two hours last night after I retired starting the dig-out process. I’m sure it made a difference, but the wind is still gusting so badly that much of what he dug out is buried deep again. At least the wind has swept much of the snow off the cars. That should make clean-up a little easier, anyhow.

Here’s the 11:00 shot from my front door this morning:

Some areas actually look better than last night. The concrete steps across the way have entirely vanished though, and the drifts are starting to take on immpressive proportions.

I also took a few shots through my kitchen doors, which lead into the garden area. You can get an idea of the depth not only from how far up the snow comes on the doorway, but by looking at my poor lawn furniture. Remember, this is a walled in and relatively sheltered area!

And finally, a view from the back door to the patio. That lump in the middle of the patio table? Somewhere deep under all that is a jar-candle that I had neglected to take in last fall. Snow makes interesting sculpture out of the frameworks made available to it.

I guess I’m not getting my paper delivered today. I just hope the call for my new liver doesn’t come during all this.
