I chickened out of the government veterinary job. Their questionaire asked about skills in areas I haven’t been involved with since veterinary school. I’m simply don’t feel qualified for the position, based on what they say they’re looking for. It’s been an ego boost to be asked, but I don’t want to end up stuck…

You mentioned you might consider refinancing. I’ve found this site useful for monitoring interest rates in general, even though I haven’t used any of the lenders. Just plug in your state, loan amount, number of years, etc.:
