Home away from home

This is Karen Ann’s Tea Room. I’ve been hanging out here since September. It’s close to the cats that I do vet checks on twice a week, which makes it very (too) convenient. They have good food, Morgan blend tea, WiFi and a relaxed atmosphere. Some days I show up before noon and don’t leave until closing at 4:30. I’m on first name basis with the staff, and if I say “the usual” they know what I mean.

I’m far more comfortable with this unemployment situation than I should be.

  1. A place like that is a treasure. There’s one not far from me that’s been a second home for several years. Unfortunately it changed hands last year, and has lost a certain "something", but I’m lucky to have had it for so long.

    Enjoy yours.

  2. So you returned the glove. All you had to do was give it back to her and leave. Hey, she was with the pharmacist et al and would have been fine, right?

Geez, Sal. You were the human touch she needed and you responded to that where most people wouldn’t have. You took the time to just be with her so she wasn’t so afraid. Don’t diminish what you did out of a sense of modesty or hide behind the hyde of a salamander who walks through fire unhurt. You did it because you’re a good person and it was the right thing to do under the circumstances that you found when you returned the glove to her. You aren’t a person who walks away from what you think is the right thing to do, which is probably why you’re unemployed right now (please don’t hit me for saying that *laffs*).

I stand behind my statement. You’re a good egg and I’m very glad to know you. I wish there were more people like you in the world.
