Back again, back again, jiggity jig.
Well, the much awaited doctor’s visit is now over and done with. I’m scheduled for another flex sigmoidoscopy next Wednesday. Yippee. Another day at work lost so I can have my bowels checked again. I’m also supposed to schedule a cardiac ultrasound in the near future; my last one was about four years ago and they’re suddenly seeing the need for an updated one. Yipee yet again. They took four vials of blood – I love the phlebotomist at my doctor’s office. Clean, painless sticks every time. I’ve got script for three prescriptions, and for pressure stockings for my legs. The best of all possible scenarios is inflamatory bowel disease. The worst is that I’m throwing micro-clots again. My doctor said she wanted me to take time off. Yeah, right. We compromised – I’m supposed to go straight home, elevate my legs, and leave them that way in the evenings. I’m not sure how that’s going to get the unpacking done, or the dinners cooked, or a myriad of other details attended to, but I’ll do what I can.
At least New Mexico the week of the nineteenth is still on. Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that I didn’t mention that to my doctor. But if I don’t get a vacation … a real vacation … I’m going to go stark, raving mad.
Damn – just got a call from The Socialist. They left a message at the apartment – they made the follow-up visit for the doctor on the 19th. Right smack dab in the middle of vacation. New Mexico may not be happening. I wonder if I can get refunds on the plane tickets.
One of my dreams in medic school is becoming excellent at hitting veins, painlessly would be nice. I cringe whenever I have to use a large bore.
The unpacking can wait, and let the Socialist practice his cooking (and cleaning) skills.
Now the vacation, that is a real drag. But I imagine being on vacation with what you have been describing might not be too much fun anyway.
It is refreshing to see someone take their health issues seriously.
