Still no word

Yesterday I thought that I was reconciled to the fact that I was going to have to wait for Dr. Liver to get back to me regarding my MELD score. Yeasterday I really believed I was prepared to be patient, and wait for The Powers That Be look at my files and figure out what’s going on. Yesterday I was doing a nice job of deluding myself.

Still no word from Dr. Liver. Still no idea what’s going on. Color me clueless. And frustrated. You can tell, because I’m writing in sentence fragments.

There was an article in today’s local paper about risks to living donors for liver transplants. I haven’t seen it yet, but from what I understand, the previous estimates of the risk of death to the donors was somewhat inflated, while the estimates of detrimental health impact were significantly deflated. I’ll have to get more information, but the preliminary information I’m getting about this article further resolves me that a living donor is an absolute last resort.

I wonder why I don’t get any hits for “liver transplant” searches on my diary.

  1. I just realized that when I read your sardine entry I thought you were talking about anchovies. Maybe it’s because we both like anchovies and nobody else we’re around seems to. I couldn’t fathom making anchovy sandwiches.

For the record, I also like sardine sandwiches. I’ll buy them in flavored sauces like mustard or Louisiana hot sauce and put them right on a roll.

Other than that, hopefully it will snow only on your place of business. Or they will lose power. Or burst a pipe. Or something that makes only them and no one else close for the day!

Just to let you know, I’m still watching Hugh movies for you. Your spirits should be soaring by now! Days of back to back Hugh movies & TV shows do wonders!

  3. And what that ultimately means, of course, is that you don’t ever have to do anything sensational for people to love you. When I say it’s you I like, I’m talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed. So in all that you do, in all of your life, I wish you the strength and the grace to make those choices which will allow you and your neighbor to become the best of whoever you are.

  4. I was saddened by the loss of America’s favorite neighbor. Though I can be a little twisted, I do have an appreciation for children’s entertainment. I feel like his program was one of real value… positive and one that encouraged the imagination.

Unicorn tube? I have some REAL unsavory pictures in my head… Thanks!
