Very little to Report.

My doctor decided that the ultrasound scheduled for next week was too long to wait, and bumped me into a slot today somehow. I had hopes of hearing the results from that, but none appear to be forthcoming today. I suppose no news is good news.

I have the flex sigmoidoscopy first thing tomorrow morning. This afternoon and evening were devoted to “prep”. I have decided that Magnesium Citrate is not as evil as Phospho Soda, but that this is a marginal improvement at best. It’s rather like deciding what you’d rather be stung by – wasp or hornet.

The Socialist picked up my copy of Lord of the Rings today, and I spent the night watching it, putting it on hold, running to the bathroom, slinking back into the living room, watching some more, then repeating the cycle. I doubt I’ll be getting too much sleep tonight. At least it’s general anesthetic tomorrow, so I’ll get some sleep then.

Perhaps I’ll get some answers then as well.

  1. Well, I suppose you can look at the bright side, at least they are not taking the looper and going to the acending colon for a peek. Seriously, I will be thinking about you and hoping they figure out whatever is the cause of your grief.

  2. *laughing at the comment above* Last year my dad had an endoscopy. (They use a tube to extend a camera down into your stomach.) The doctor told him it was basically the same as the colonoscopy he’d had a year or so before, just from a different end of the body. Same instrument, even. My dad said, "I hope to God you cleaned it."

  3. i hope that as i’m posting this, you are recovering from an endoscopy that wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be.

    get better, kid!
