I’m tired.

And I’m still frustrated, and I’ll even admit to being a little fearful. The ascites (which is what my “bloating” is – free fluid accumulating in the abdomen) continues to worsen. I slept for perhaps two hours total last night. There is no way to lie down comfortably any more. When I got up this morning, my weight was at a new all-time morning high.

When you’re too uncomfortable to sleep and to tired to get up, the mind kicks into overdrive. I had too much time to think last night.

I need an answer to what’s causing this soon, or I will surely go as mad as the Hatter himself. Meanwhile, somebody remind this “Alice” not to take the mushroom that makes you bigger next time.

I think I’ll take today off.

  1. I don’t know if this will be helpful to you an anyway, but a lot of women who develop chronic heartburn while pregnant are forced to sleep upright. A friend of mine spent her whole third trimester sleeping in a La-z-boy. Might that position diminish your swelling? It’s not great sleep (I had to do it a few times), but it’s loads better than nothing.
