The Reader’s Digest Version

I had so much I’d intended to put into diary entries.

•I’ve got my new computer desk set up and running.

•I spliced additional wire onto my new stereo’s speakers so that I could set it up on the new desk the way I wanted.

•I only have to see the doctor every three weeks now.

•I have sphinx moths visiting my morning glories, although I’ve not been able to get a picture of them yet.

•It was nip-and-tuck, but the medication refills I needed for the California trip arrived in time.

•My printer may or may not be fried. I’ll need to purchase a new color cartridge for it when I get back from my trip and see if it works. If it doesn’t, the printer is definitely fried.

•I ran into problems with my Canon Zoom-Browser software, with the end result being the loss of approximately 600 cat pictures I’d taken. I’m trying hard not to be heart broken about it. Serves me right for not making back-ups.

•Made it all the way through the second season Babylon 5 DVD’s, including the special features. I look forward to coming home and starting the season three DVD’s.

•The Socialist is busy burning some more heavy metal music CD’s for the trip west. He promised we’d stop to buy earplugs before we left town tomorrow.

•Did some serious clothes shopping over the weekend. Most places were having BIG sales, and I made out like a bandit. Two camp shirts, three pairs of Lee jeans, a halter top and five knit/jersey short sleeve pull-over tops, for less than $125. I’m feeling pretty cocky about my ability to locate bargains at the moment.

•Also got myself a really cool pair of earrings. I’m always on the look-out for ear cuffs, because I don’t have pierced ears and I hate clip-ons. These earrings are like nothing I’d seen before. They work like bobby-pins, with a very narrow wire tucking up behind your ear to clip them into place. I’ve been wearing the pair I got for a few hours now, waiting for the Socialist to notice. So far, oblivion reigns supreme.

•It was lights-out for the greater Northeast tonight, but we missed the excitement by a little less than 100 miles. I’m glad I’m still on disability at the moment though, since this will have a nasty impact at work tomorrow. I’ll think fondly of them as I travel westward.

And travel westward I shall, starting late tomorrow morning. I doubt I’ll have access to a computer anywhere, so this is probably it until Labor Day. With luck, I’ll get my rear in gear and start making more regular updates again when I come back.

  1. I’m glad you updated! I was starting to get a bit worried, and if I hadn’t heard from you until after labor day, I’d have been very worried. Hope the trip is fun. 🙂 Glad you’re doing well.

  2. Not the cat pictures! Awwwwww!

You know how some people lack a gene that allows them to distinguish certain colors or taste certain flavors? Well, I’m convinced that many men lack a gene that allows them to notice new clothing, haircuts, jewelry, and so on.

Oh, and KimiCat! I didn’t know you visted this diary. *waves energetically*

  3. Hi Texan Elf!

I’m a recent arrival in this part of cyberspace, but I had this login from a previous incarnation here. It’s a bit poignant using it, but… you know.

    Nice to see you.

  4. I’ve done everything Sitemeter wanted me to do trying to figure out the search words thing but I think they are holding out to ask me for my firstborn. I need a computer IQ shot.
