No one has yet made their move. I don’t know if that means they are reconsidering the rash actions they’ve been contemplating, or if the universe is just being perverse and waiting until my guard is down before it strikes.

My two little bird compatriots that I thought axed apparently haven’t been, although I was told they had been on Monday, and half the people around here are acting like they have been. This makes things even more uncomfortable. I do not wish to “poach” on their territory. It’s a huge breech in professional ethics, and I don’t like being manipulated into it.

I still have a proposal to draft by tomorrow; this job was dumped on my desk last night and I haven’t even had a chance to review the outline yet. I’m taking lunch first though. After this morning, I’ve earned it.

After lunch, I have to report my cell phone missing (yes, AGAIN; don’t ask, I’m not in a good mood about it). Then, assuming the other departments leave me alone, I’ll finish that proposal and also get some filing done. I need to file all the paperwork on recent catastrophes away so I can find it at a moment’s notice. I have a feeling that much of this week’s fire-fighting is going to be put under a magnifying glass at some later date.

At least the Socialist made out well with fighting his traffic ticket. He made a deal to get it down to 5 mph over the speed limit, and no points assigned. At least I’m not sucking the luck out of everybody else’s days right now.

  1. Not to laugh at your pain…but I used to handle all the cell phones and pagers for a large company and let me tell you….the stories are hilarious. I always knew I was in for a good one when they walked towards my desk with that sheepish look…

They fell in toilets, left them at restaurants, drove over them with their car, fell out of their pockets at amusement parks….

    You are not alone…

  2. Holy Moly, you must feel like you’re walking on eggshells at work.

Thanks for your comment re migraine. I’m seeing my GP soon. I have had some success with Voltaren in the past, but it might be time to try something new.
