Into Mulch
I got home from work to find that Management had mulched all of our gardens today.
I have seven, maybe eight sunflowers that survived the mulching. Two don’t look too healthy though.
I don’t know why I bother.

I want a Christmas tree. I suspect I want one extra badly because it turns out I honestly shouldn’t get it. I can’t afford it. I’ve seen several fake trees I like, and most are triple digits. I thought maybe I could budget $40 for a nice, smallish tree. Forty bucks won’t even buy me…
It’s been a horrid day at work so far. Between the State and the Fed vets both putting in appearances today, and wanting more samples than any single animal is able to provide (exactly how many kidneys do they think an animal has, anyhow?), I’ve been getting persistent nosebleeds off and on. I’m sure it’s…
I slept until ten o’clock this morning. It was a sound sleep, relatively uninterrupted, amounting in all to about ten hours worth. I’m sure the Ambien had a hand in that, but I’ve had insomniac nights even with the Ambien, so I suspect a good part of it was sheer exhaustion. I’d been sleeping like…
I’m getting emails with the subject line “Returned mail: User unknown” from [email protected]. The strange thing is that I’ve never sent email to the addresses that are coming back to my attention. The email has attachments to it. That’s to be expected on returned email alerts. It’s also to be expected if you’ve been sent…

Iâve become quite settled in my jobless routine. Which is why it was so unsettling to read in the national news about problems at a sister corporation to my former employer. The problem is related to some of the things I once had some peripheral input to, and itâs a big enough fiasco that my…
bite your tongue! WINTER? oh no, give me warmth.
of course, my kitties are lounging in A/C. cacti in a window box sounds great!
What about a fruit and cheese tray? Lots of melon, apples, pineapple & grapes with a couple different types of cheese to off set the sweetness of the fruit.
OK, now I’m hungry.

How about a crisp as a goodie option? After reading your post earlier, I got to thinking about what might constitute unusual. I posted one of our favorites; Rhubarb Crisp.
Of course, given your heat wave, ice cream sounds good too. Oooo ice cream over Rhubarb Crisp. yummmm
I like allimom’s suggestion about the fruit and cheese tray. You might add some olives or something to it, also.
Sorry to hear about your pansies. They are fragile where the heat is concerned. Last year was strange though as I managed to get all of mine though the summer looking pretty good *shrugs*.
Well, to put it none too delicately, SHIT. I am assuming that you have asked them to advise you before they do anything like that?
Freakin’ flower killers.
Is this the garden up off your patio or the one with the Canterbury Bells?
Did they give any warning or explanation for why they did this? I would pitch three kinds of a fit to them if that happened to me.
