The Shifting Black Hole

Just got a letter from the state. My unemployment is extended through the last week of July. Why I should feel like less of a free-loader when I’m on unemployment than off of it is up for grabs, but at least I’m pulling some cash flow into this household while I look.

The best prospect right now is with an outfit based in San Antonio. The job description they posted was taken straight out of my resume. The job would pay well (better than I was making in the before times), but it would probably require relocating, and it would definitely require that I spend three-quarters of my time on the road. Yesterday I was in the process of resigning myself that I’d have to accept it if offered, today my options are somewhat more open.

The job in San Antonio would have me working as a third party auditor. I’d e reviewing companies like the one I just left. There is a certain pleasure in thinking I could potentially be assigned to audit my last employer.

I feel better now than I have for days.

  1. How do you feel about relocating? The Professor can teach math anywhere. I think Alex liked San Antonio, he went there when he was stationed in Fort Hood.

    Yea for extensions!

  2. The Professor would definitely appreciate a move out of several feet of snow and into a climate more reminiscent of where he is from. The only thing– do they have Chik-Fil-A in TX? Even if they don’t I’m sure he’d be willing to make the sacrifice. Best of luck! I, too, hope you get to inspect your former employer. The looks on their faces would be a hoot and I’d give most anything to be a fly on the wall for that!

  3. Wouldn’t that just be poetic justice *evil grins*

R lived in San Antonio for a while and liked it well enough but he liked Dallas, too, so I’m not sure that’s much of a recommendation 😉
