Homeward Bound

Spent the weekend in Atlanta getting C.E. credits. It’s a very cool town, but I didn’t do too much while there – after 8+ hours of classes each day I mostly wanted to eat and go to bed. Made a few contacts, got a few job hunt leads, and had some wonderful meals (the AVMA convention coincided with Atlanta’s restaurant week). I’m not convinced at this point that Atlanta has any bad eateries. And as much as I want to make fun of it, apparently southern hospitality is serious business in Atlanta. Everyone, from the maids at the hotel through the people at the convention center were unflaggingly cheerful and nice just short of the point of being overkill.

Meeting an old friend from vet school outside of Baltimore on my way home tomorrow.

For what it’s worth, I want my money back from Rock City, TN. I had fun on the incline railroad though.

  1. You’re right about the food in Atlanta. I went down there with a girlfriend a couple of years ago for a long weekend and it was just fantastic. Her cousin met us down there and his best friend took us to a stir fry place that was just out of this world and a chicken place for lunch the next day. The biscuits nearly made me cry they were so light and fluffy.

Glad you had a good time!
