Optimism

Can it be that spring is actually here? Today was an unseasonable 80+ lovely Fahrenheit degrees. I opened the windows, and the cats were immediately part of the situation. The Little Black Shit actually got some quality time outside with The Prof.

The robins are doing their territorial dancing, the cardinals have built a nest in the bush outside my window (hence the cats’ avid interest in the great outdoors) and I actually saw my first blooming dandelions today (Hush, you! Dandelions are beautiful little flowers.)

I have hopes that winter may finally be over.

  1. It was a gloriously sweaty 85 yesterday. We cleared out the front and side flower beds, much to my relief. The robins are doing their thing here, too, as evidenced by Dusty launching herself at the south-facing living room window at full speed. The result was not what she expected but I found it fairly hilarious.

Today topped out at 60 but I can deal with that. It’s better than the alternative!

  2. I’d like to think that today’s great weather was brought up from Florida with us. It was breezy and warm enough outside to remind us of the seashore we visited. Sigh…
