End Note
A really good soundtrack to eating one’s first kiwano:
And no. It’s got nothing to do with kiwanos. But it’s happy, and so am I at the moment.

Only two more days until my next paracentesis. At the rate I’m building up fluid, I won’t be surprised if Dr. Liver wants to move me to weekly tap-outs. It would certainly make me feel better if he did, but if I start losing that much time at work I might as well just go…
and some days you’re the bug. I’m doing OK today. Which is to say that not much has changed, but I’m coping a bit better. It helps having the Socialist around. Fridays he has no classes, and even if we aren’t in the same room it’s just plain comforting not to be the only non-cat…
My across-the-way neighbor, whom The Prof uncharitably refers to as âGoiter Ladyâ is moving out today. I spoke with her briefly last week to wish her luck, and to offer my assistance with any last minute items she might need to attend to. Sheâs been chronically ill with a variety of things, most notably a…
Iâm back from the two-day conference with fifteen continuing education credits under my belt and a couple of decent job leads. It actually all went pretty well until we got ready to leave and my car (parked in the underground garage associated with the hotel where the event was held) wouldn’t start. By way of…
Clueless is home. I called the vet’s late this morning, and found that he was doing better, had kept his food down, and did not appear to have had any more diarrhea. We’ll be keeping him on Baytril, in case he has an occult kidney infection, and waiting to see what happens next. All my…
It’s more like who I am simultaneously. I have a seond diary here at DD that I keep for a group of people who met in cyberspace and have become friends. We post to each other on a message board that the Professor created. It’s nice in that it is a very ecclectic, international community….
Once cut open, they look like third cousins to cucumbers… with of course some fish DNA thrown in just to put us off our stride. I imagine if you stumbled across one of those in the Kalahaha 😉 desert, you would be overjoyed.
What’s next? Star fruit? Ugli fruit?
They do look rather sweet.
We’re all used to them by now, but kiwifruit also look quite amazing in cross-section.
those look a whole lot like the lemon cucumbers I grew last year. Now I’m going to have to find some to try.
RYC: I’ve tried Goodwill but while I’ve found lots of shirts, aside from one pair of capri pants, they’ve never had anything in my size *sigh*
