Lima beans for dinner

I was off work all day yesterday to get some hospital tests done. I had an echocardiogram done, the results of which I won’t know until next week. I also had a pulmonary function test done. I won’t know the final results of that one until next week as well, but I do know that I showed diminished lung capacity that responded to bronchiole relaxers.

On the way home I developed the beginnings of another headache. By the time I got home, I knew it was yet again more than just another headache. I fed the kit-kats, figuring that by the time dinnertime came I wasn’t going to feel like getting out of bed to feed them. I didn’t have my headache pack in the freezer (I’d forgotten to put it in after the last episode), so I grabbed a bag of frozen lima beans, and went to bed. Things got progressively worse, and I ended up spending from 5:00 to 8:00 or so alternating between making barf-runs to the bathroom and praying for death.

Fortunately, my stomach began to settle before 9:00, when my evening pills are due. If I can’t keep the pills down, then I have to be hospitalized, and I wanted to avoid that at all costs. By this morning, things had settled down to a gentle throb accompanied by light sensitivity, so I was able to drag my sorry carcass into work. Since I have no more paid sick days, dragging my sorry carcass to work has become a priority.

Today I’ve been keeping the clip-on shades attached to my bifocals. When anyone asks, I’ve told them that the case is in the car, and I don’t want them to get scratched up, so I’m leaving them on. I figure they probably think I’m doing drugs.

The lima beans thawed out by the time I got up this morning. I don’t know what else we’re having for dinner, but we’re having lima beans.

  1. Well, at least that’s one less decision you’ll have to be concerned about.

i hope feel better. i have had hangovers that sounded more pleasant… and that’s saying something.

  2. So sorry to read about your headache! Sounds like a dreaded migraine. I hope work is tolerable for you. ๐Ÿ™

But…lima beans? UGHHHHHHHHHH. Lima beans should be outlawed.

  3. Hi,

I wanted to stop in and say thank you for the kind comments. Due to mom’s disease process, the major organs could not be harvested but I take tremendous comfort knowing that someone will be able to see with her corneas, an accident victim can have bone reconstruction and a burn victim can have a skin graft.

My mom was a generous person who was a huge proponent of organ donation and there was absolutely no other choice for me to make in that regard. I am completely sure she would haunt me for the rest of my days had I not done it.

Again, thank you for the comment.

    Take Care,

    Bobbi

P.S. I love lima beans, so would you please have a bite for me?

  4. Oh no! Your migraines are really bad! You have too much pressure on you, from the sounds of it. But I’m not telling you anything new. Poor Pali! ๐Ÿ™ I hope you feel better and get some quality rest at the weekend.

    Love and (((hugs))) from thubten
