Googling Spring
Spring may actually be coming. I know the year is young, and the mild spell we’re experiencing now is simply lulling me into a sense of false primavera. But it feels good to go out in a light jacket and not have my body’s core heat immediately sucked out of me. It feels good to hear geese flying overhead and quarrelling in the field across from my office. It feels good to see hints of leaves forming on forsythia bushes. Yes, I know I’m deluding myself. Next week I’ll need my quilted coat again, and next week the geese will be standing ankle deep in snow, and next week the forsythia bushes are going to regret ever trying to get a jump on the season. But it feels good to delude myself, so I’ll continue my self-deception until reality forces itself on me.
Last night The Socialist and I had planned to go out to the movies to see “Girl with the Pearl Earring.” I came home from work so exhausted though that the only thing I wanted to do was nap. He was good about me wanting to break my plans, and worked on rearranging the books in his math-bookcase while I napped for an hour. I woke up just in time to see most of “Seventh Heaven”, but never really felt rested. I’d slept well the night previously, and I slept well last night, but today I’m flat-out tired too. I wonder if it’s an early case of spring fever.
In the News: I see that the courts found against the major music dealers and distributors in that big national anti-trust price-fixing case. Residents of my state who signed up to participate in the class action suit will get checks for $13.86. The news report I heard said there are 243,000 of us. I’m glad I signed up for the suit when I first heard about it. I won’t get rich from $13.86, I’ll happily take it too the bank when it arrives. And to think there were those who doubted me when I first told them about this! (wink)
Recent Googles that have directed people to my virtual doorstep are:
“prius” and “accident”
bob keesham
2004 prius accident
lyrics Dino Fekaris online
salamander car (there is apparently a light reconnaissance armored car called a “Salamander”)
wooly bear
It would seem that the crush for information on “turtle tanks” and for “purple unicorn tubes” has finally died away. I find it interesting (read: disappointing) that my experiences in transplant living have attracted not a single hit. Considering the bulk of my last year’s entries were devoted to that, I can only assume that I’m so far down on the retrieval list that I miss out when people are searching for information.
Several of your entries come up under the Palimpsest diary for liver transplant, I haven’t seen any of the Salamander ones yet, but I’ll keep looking!

Ah, Forsythia…harbinger of Spring.
May its bravery not cost it too dear…

Re: Krispy Kreme.
The box is taped shut. And as everyone KNOWS, the only one who can cut the magic tape, is the INSPECTOR! 🙂

Ah, Purple Unicorn Tubes, I miss those days of lying on the floor in the Haight listening to them while we tripped. :::sigh::: Those were the days.
I have a sudden urge to look up liver transplants…hmmm…

I’m all for being lulled into a false sense of primavera. Great turn of phrase by the way. I truly LOL! Riding without a jacket for the first time this year has made my week. Enjoy it while it lasts! L8R
I am totally surprised that your entries re:transplant living are not being hit =(
Spring fever in February??? Somebody’s jumping the gun! More likely cabin fever.
I bet a lot of your readers have decided to be organ DONORS though, through your influence.
Speaking of spring, we have been hearing frogs at night. So far it has been nice, but I expect that it won’t be long until I am yelling at them to be quiet. Frog mating season is a good reason for ear plugs around here. A few of my primroses are blooming as well as my crocus. The daffodils are up, but not open yet.
