Audit tomorrow

And damn, do I have a bad feeling about this. We’re a good company, and we try to do things right. But so many things on this audit are “anything less than 100% is failing.” And I simply can’t guarantee that everything is going to go right 100% of the time. If any of about ten things don’t go precisely right, we get a failure, and then I’ll have this damned thing hanging over my head for two more months until we schedule a re-audit. And there’s no guarantee we’ll pass the re-audit either, for the same reasons we may or may not pass this audit.

I watched the first installment of “Gift of Life” on the Discovery Health Channel tonight. I knew they’d done some filming in our area, but the entire hour was set in my transplant region. Hell, I’d been in two of the hospitals that were featured, and I know some of the nurses. The didn’t do any liver transplant stuff tonight, so I didn’t recognize any of the doctors or nurses. If the entire six hours were filmed in this region though I’ll certainly start recognizing people soon.

And now I have to pack. As soon as my day from hell is over tomorrow, I go home, shower, and then leave for Cape May with Dr. Nineteen Cats. I won’t be around until Tuesday. I’m looking forward to the break.
