Picture intensive

This is completely unposed. This crepe paper was in a gift bag that had one of my birthday presents in it. I had a fine time with the present, but the Former Kitten had a better time with the stuffing.

Little Grey Kit is ordinarily everyone’s favorite punching bag, but having the paper to stalk under emboldened her. Immediately after I shot this picture, she finished her wiggle-but approach and jumped on her usual tormenter. Nothing like a little colorful crepe paper to make a cat feel like a tiger.

For some reason, The Little Brown Kit adores sitting next to the Prof while we watch television. This is her usual position, upside down with the remotes. I don’t pretend to understand.

And then there’s the Little Black Kit, who doesn’t get much journal time here. Although all the cats (with the exception of Warrior Princess) have been known to spend time in the sink, LBlK is the most insistent. Fortunately, the master bathroom has two sinks, so I can run the water for her in one each morning while I brush my teeth in the other. As The Prof likes to say, she’s “nothing but eyes” in this picture, with those orbs glowing out of fur so black that most other detail gets lost.

Had to include this just because. There was a wonderful double rainbow here a few weeks ago. I got some so-so pictures of it, but then took a shot of my little Prius: the gold at the end of the rainbow. Little did I know five years ago exactly what a smart move I was making then. Don’t see many of the original generation Prius’s on the road anymore, but I like to think that having the original model proves that I was ahead of the curve.

  1. Lovely kitty pics. Some cats just have a thing about paper (Kimi-cat did). And some like to lie upside-down, throwing dignity to the wind (Sura).

  2. It always amazes me how cats can enjoy themselves with the cheapest items. Buy a fancy "crinkle bag" from the pet store, and our cat will have nothing to do with it. Bring home a plastic bag of groceries (or open a present with tissue paper), and the cat is all over it.

I guess it’s one way to save money these days…
