I have just discovered that the spica will not permit me to play Mahjongg Dimensions.

Cardiohypertrophy can mean lowered stroke volume and low output. It depends on the kind of hypertrophy, and the elasticity of the heart muscle. Some athletes have hypertrophic hearts (which literally means “bigger sized”) that are very efficient and have above average outputs. I, on the other hand, missed out on getting hypertrophy as a sequella…
The world is burning. Mother Nature turns arsonist. Matches become weapons. Touch the button, a bomb explodes. The timer hits zero, shrapnel flies. Depress the key and the inflammatory cocktail whizzes along an electronic pathway to detonate at its assigned address. Forget to set the parking brake and the car becomes a missile, its targets…
I was a “Docent” for the local zoo for about five and a half years. The Docent Council is a group of volunteers that help staff educational activities at the zoo. We’re the ones that give the tours, take the Zoo-2-U van out to the elementary schools and special events in the area. The Docents…
Unpacking continues. I’ve managed to get all my science fiction books over to the new apartment now (I’ve guesstimated that there are about 1200 books in the collection, but I’ll really have to sit down and inventory them one of these days). All my veterinary and science texts remain at the old apartment, though. They’re…
Joshua Tree National Park, Thursday afternoon, August 28th. I know you are supposed to start a story at the beginning, but sometimes the end is as good a place to start as any. Our last day of vacation in California before heading home was spent in one of the Socialist’s and my favorite places, Joshua…
Shells from Long Beach Island, 2010 July 04 I spent some of this past weekend looking for shells on Long Beach Island. I usually look for the tiny, perfect shells. Many times Iâll find what looks like a perfect shell, only to turn it over and find the back cracked or entirely missing. Sometimes the…
OMG. I’d forgotten about the yellowing of the undercoat! Two of the cats I’d previously mentioned were chinchilla persian and had that problem. It’s freaky to look at, actually. You sort of expect them to glow in the dark.
Planning on going to Champaign this weekend so I’ll see if I can find you some toe socks for your hand. Evidently they’re all the rage again. Dunno. Too old and too frumpy to really care unless it’s for a good cause 😉
And there I was thinking you meant lavender! I hope the splint helps. I sometimes wear one, as I have a chronic issue in one wrist, and it does ease the problem. I like the idea of funky socks!
Good news on the ringworm! Progress at last, albeit at the cost of smells.
I hadn’t thought of this medication angle. I may discuss it with our Sheltie Rescue director.
We will give her a week and evaluate her then. It will be nice to have something to fall back on if it is needed.
Thanks for the idea.
Sorry about your hand… pesky bodies, little drama queens sometimes aren’t they?
Having had experience with craft booths over the years, I can tell you they almost never make more of a profit than to pay for the booth, gas to get there, beverages and food for the day. They are not profit-making endeavors for the average craftsman or craftswoman. If you’ve ever noticed, the large booths at crafts fairs are usually on the outside corners of the floor plan and are usually either purchased things that are quickly embellished while you wait or edibles. It is where you will find the photo mugs, mouse pads, airbrushed t-shirts, "homemade" candy, kettle corn and the sort of glass blowers that make those sailboat replicas with all the string work where they charge a small fortune for anything really good. These are the only places that actually turn a profit.
