This was waiting on my front doorstep this afternoon. I checked. Gardenias aren’t toxic to cats, so I can even bring it in come winter! I’ll just need to fence it off, so the cattle don’t graze on it.
Some people are bird watchers. Other people spot trains, or collect baseball cards or try to visit all fifty states. Me? I get to add another disease to my lifetime sick list. Actually, I guess I get to add two diseases, since chicken pox hadn’t previously bee on the list either. I don’t know what…
My little grey Nimrod is starting to hone her hunting skills on something other than the other cats. Monday she discovered spiders. Some poor dumb arachnid apparently found its way into our kitchen from the great outdoors, and Kitten, attracted by the motion of something small and black on the floor, had to investigate. Following…
Perhaps this is some sort of mild PTSD, where I just canât let go of that point in time where my life jumped the shark and became a medical situation comedy instead of an infomercial with all the seductiveness of leftover meatloaf. Iâve come to feel that the situation comedy should be canceled, but at…
I have a living room that I never use. Its design is fairly formal. You step down about six inches into it, and while it is completely open to the dining room, it is divided from the dining room by two pillars and a railing to either side of the pillars. The picture shows the…
Bottle Gentian I found this about six feet off of the trail in the back of the preserve I’ve been going to. I’d never seen it before, and from what I gather, it isn’t common to our area. This is as open as the flower will get, hence the name “bottle gentian”. A small bee…
this is the kind of letter that is tough to write, but you pull it off. too bad they can’t know more about you.
I think that’s pretty good. I tried to read it from the recipient’s perspective. I think that you waited until this time of year is actually very good. The first holiday season after losing a loved one is very difficult, and this letter might make it easier. The only thing I might even suggest to add is that you are taking exceptional care of their child’s liver, that you don’t drink and are careful about medication that could damage it. They might feel better to know that the doctors are unsure as to why your original liver failed but that you were not engaging in behaviors that could have put you at risk. Oh, and you could add that it is working normally.
The above are just suggestions, and those particulars are not necessary, I suppose, but if it were the Kid, I would feel better to know that whoever got his organs would take good care of them.

Beautiful.
That letter made me get teary eyed,,,and that’s rare for me. It is a beautiful letter.
I am thankful that you got that gift.

Great letter. You have always had a way with words.
Beautiful…
Beautiful…
Beautiful.
What a beautiful letter.
I would not change a thing.
Telling them about your past health would only make them sad and they do not need to know that.
You did an excellent job telling them just what they needed to know….that you are leading a ‘normal, healthy and happy life’ once again, thanks to their ‘decision’.
That will make them ‘happy’ knowing that they did they right thing. Also knowing that part of ‘them’ is living on, in you, is comforting to them, alone.
Again….
What a Beautiful letter.
Love,
Honey
P.S…
You letter also tells them…
What a ‘Beautiful person’ you are.
I think it’s a great letter. I think you did a great job showing how much a difference it has made to your life. I’m glad you were able to find the words.
