Of course, all that means is that the fun now begins in earnest. The Socialist is again outside, shovelling, as are many of our neighbors. We’re running out of places to put the snow though! The piles are getting so high it’s difficult to toss the next shovelful to the top. While the snow has…

KiwiKimi. EdStun. Shay41. All old friends. All show up together on the top ten list. DD was in it’s prime, and many wonderful writers sheltered in the virtual haven here. So many electrons – cast off to new atoms or disappeared entirely. The diaspora of friends and talent has spread across the webscape, but the…
While walking from the main building to my office yesterday evening, I watched grey storm clouds jostling for position over my head. A red-tail hawk soared into view, surfing the edge of the storm front. Tail and wings fully spread, he could have been a kite without a string. Other birds had taken cover from…
I’ve been taking pictures throughout the day. It makes me feel like I have some control over a situation that is quite out of control. This was my deck at 2:00 pm. My deck at 3:30pm. My deck at 7:00. I stuck a yardstick in the snow. Right now, at 7:30, it reads 21.5 inches….
I think what makes us [cat people] feel superior is not that we have a cat in our homes, but that a cat has found us acceptable to live with. There’s a thrill in that that a dog owner will never know. -Haskel Frankel, Foreword to Dr. L. J. Camuti’s book “All My Patients Are…
this is the kind of letter that is tough to write, but you pull it off. too bad they can’t know more about you.
I think that’s pretty good. I tried to read it from the recipient’s perspective. I think that you waited until this time of year is actually very good. The first holiday season after losing a loved one is very difficult, and this letter might make it easier. The only thing I might even suggest to add is that you are taking exceptional care of their child’s liver, that you don’t drink and are careful about medication that could damage it. They might feel better to know that the doctors are unsure as to why your original liver failed but that you were not engaging in behaviors that could have put you at risk. Oh, and you could add that it is working normally.
The above are just suggestions, and those particulars are not necessary, I suppose, but if it were the Kid, I would feel better to know that whoever got his organs would take good care of them.

Beautiful.
That letter made me get teary eyed,,,and that’s rare for me. It is a beautiful letter.
I am thankful that you got that gift.

Great letter. You have always had a way with words.
Beautiful…
Beautiful…
Beautiful.
What a beautiful letter.
I would not change a thing.
Telling them about your past health would only make them sad and they do not need to know that.
You did an excellent job telling them just what they needed to know….that you are leading a ‘normal, healthy and happy life’ once again, thanks to their ‘decision’.
That will make them ‘happy’ knowing that they did they right thing. Also knowing that part of ‘them’ is living on, in you, is comforting to them, alone.
Again….
What a Beautiful letter.
Love,
Honey
P.S…
You letter also tells them…
What a ‘Beautiful person’ you are.
I think it’s a great letter. I think you did a great job showing how much a difference it has made to your life. I’m glad you were able to find the words.
