The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals. As far back as the sabertooth tiger. – Spock, “Catspaw” ~~~~~~ “You must talk to him; tell him that he is a good cat, and a pretty cat, and…” – Data “I will feed him”– Worf, “Phantasms” ~~~~~~ Yet another one of those days. Rain,…
I couldn’t help myself. I finished the book this afternoon after some marathon reading sessions. I just knew that if I waited until the week to finish that the inevitable spoilers would make their way through the security perimeters I’d set up. I now know who survives, who dies, who’s good, who’s bad, who’s heroic,…
I’m feeling a bit better today, but it still feels like I’ve been hit by a very large freight train. Since I’m still running a low-grade temperature, I took today off as well. I’ll be back to work tomorrow though, regardless. To answer questions: From: toverfeeDate Posted: 9 Jun 2004 Your sick days take away…
Since I was a kid one of the major signs of summer for me was the return of the bats. I was entranced by their aerial precision movements as they chased bugs in the twilight sky over the backyard. I’ve stayed enchanted by them into my adulthood, and have been a member of Bat Conservation…
I seem to be going through one of my insomnia cycles again. I had hoped this would disappear when I got my replacement liver, but it seems I am not to be so fortunate. I did get a rather good score on Snood last night, but I’d rather have gotten some sleep instead. This weekend…
If one is tuned to the Soft Rock âSounds of the Seasonâ station on cable, is one watching television, or listening to music? It hardly matters; the sound track sucks either way. Iâm sitting here staring at the little factoid slide-show that Music Choice scrolls through while playing music by musicians I would never listen…
this is the kind of letter that is tough to write, but you pull it off. too bad they can’t know more about you.
I think that’s pretty good. I tried to read it from the recipient’s perspective. I think that you waited until this time of year is actually very good. The first holiday season after losing a loved one is very difficult, and this letter might make it easier. The only thing I might even suggest to add is that you are taking exceptional care of their child’s liver, that you don’t drink and are careful about medication that could damage it. They might feel better to know that the doctors are unsure as to why your original liver failed but that you were not engaging in behaviors that could have put you at risk. Oh, and you could add that it is working normally.
The above are just suggestions, and those particulars are not necessary, I suppose, but if it were the Kid, I would feel better to know that whoever got his organs would take good care of them.

Beautiful.
That letter made me get teary eyed,,,and that’s rare for me. It is a beautiful letter.
I am thankful that you got that gift.

Great letter. You have always had a way with words.
Beautiful…
Beautiful…
Beautiful.
What a beautiful letter.
I would not change a thing.
Telling them about your past health would only make them sad and they do not need to know that.
You did an excellent job telling them just what they needed to know….that you are leading a ‘normal, healthy and happy life’ once again, thanks to their ‘decision’.
That will make them ‘happy’ knowing that they did they right thing. Also knowing that part of ‘them’ is living on, in you, is comforting to them, alone.
Again….
What a Beautiful letter.
Love,
Honey
P.S…
You letter also tells them…
What a ‘Beautiful person’ you are.
I think it’s a great letter. I think you did a great job showing how much a difference it has made to your life. I’m glad you were able to find the words.
