Stupid, stupid, stupid … yeah, OK. You get the idea.

It never really occurred to me that anyone would notice my absence for a couple of days. Especially if I kept making comments. So when I started seeing my name in the title lines of people’s diary entries today I was taken aback a tad. At first I started making personal explanations as to what happened, but by the time I got to Jade, I realized that was eating way too much of my time, so I made a blanket cut-and-paste explanation for everyone.

Still here. I just made a really stupid mistake yesterday and have to wait it out. As you know, I have another Dear Diary identity. I don’t mind if the people who know “Salamander” know about the other identity, but I don’t want the people who don’t know about “Salamander” to find out about her. They’re all personal friends from a web forum I co-administer, and I’d rather keep some items of my personal life out of their hands.

Anyhow, I had a senior moment yesterday, and put a comment in one of my forum member’s diaries under the name “Salamander”. He, unfortunately, picked up on that immediately. So ol’ Stupid Sal has got to duck and cover for a bit.

Anyhow, this guy is the type that has dozens of different projects going simultaneously, and never finishes any of them. I figure I have a chance of out-waiting him. If he stays persistently interested, then I’ll have Matt and Steve change my name and come back under another incarnation.

Meanwhile, I’m still making entries, so there should be plenty to read when whoever I am finally resurfaces.

*sigh* It sucks to be me.

The really stupid thing? I don’t even enjoy reading his diary. I’m just reading it because he was feeling bad that nobody read it, and I started feeling guilty about it.

On the home front, KfH has discovered the turtle tank. I’ve found her on the lid several times now, as has the Professor. No good can come of this, though I strongly suspect that the kitten has more to fear from the turtle than vice versa. For all her flaws, KfH does still pull her punches. The turtle, on the other hand, is fully capable of crushing the kitten’s paw, should she figure out a way to get past the lid on the tank. I do have some rather cute pictures of her eyeing up Woglinde, though. I think in the near future it will be time to have another picture fest entry.

I spent part of yesterday evening figuring out why I bounced that confusticated check. I made a $1.00 math mistake on my check register. Even then, I should have been OK, because I transferred $500 from my savings account to my checking account at an ATM the day before the check hit.

The transfer of funds was requested on a Friday. The funds were actually transferred by the bank on the following Monday. The check bounced on a Saturday.

I ask you … what bank refuses to transfer your funds until the next “business” day, but bounces your checks on a weekend? I am pissed.
