Sacred sausage

It looks like we have The Professor’s aunt and uncle coming to stay with us the weekend of Feb. 22nd. They stayed with us for a weekend last year, and while I enjoy their company, I was totally fried by the end of their stay. What to do with four adults and three cats in the apartment is going to be tricky, but fortunately our visitors are “cat people”. I can only pray that Kitten from Hell doesn’t destroy anything important of theirs while they are here.

One nice thing about their visit is that The Professor and I will be able to crash a crafts show that is really intended for retailers only. Aunt and Uncle are artists, both currently working in clay. They make things that “upper crust” shops like to sell. They’ll be vending their wares at a convention for crafters being held downtown next weekend. They’ve sent The Professor and I passes that indicate we are their “assistants”. We’ll be able to cruise the stands and if I see something good I might even be able to get it for a discount price. Last year I had to do the show on cruches (I’d ruptured a tendon in my “good” leg) and wasn’t able to enjoy it much. I’m looking forward to it this time around.

The gastro-enterologist left a message on my answering machine at home yesterday afternoon while I was at work. I have no idea why he didn’t call at work, since he has that number as well. Anyhow, he claimed he was going to be in his office until 6:00, but when I got home and called at 5:30 he was already gone. I’ve made arrangements for him to call me at work Friday morning. I’m assuming there aren’t any important findings from the biopsies, or he’d be in a bigger rush to get hold of me.

I’ve had a magnetic poetry set (actually, several of them) in my office for years, but haven’t played with it for months. Today I fiddled with it for a bit while stuck on the phone.

Magnetic Poetry Creation for the Day:

my job is to pick

the decay from the good

it is not always easy

to know the sacred sausage
