ACfH and the Squirrel

Cat from Hell met up with her first up close and personal encounter with Nature this evening. I knew something was wrong when she wouldn’t respond to the call of the dinner bowl. Investigation revealed a Cat too engrossed at the balcony door to be willing to break her rapt gaze for something as mundane as dinner:

Intrigued, I snuck up to the balcony door and peered out. I expected to find a sparrow roosting on the railing, or maybe a bug on the screen. This is what greeted me instead:

So, the cheeky little squirrel that Migraine Man has been feeding, the very squirrel that has been grazing on my beautiful jade tree, the Squirrel from Hell has decided on face off with ACfH.

ACfH was absolutely captivated by this interloper on my balcony. She chittered, the squirrel responded with twitters of its own, she chirped back, the squirrel squeeked its replies. The whole thing sounded like a scene out of “Wild America”. The only thing lacking was Marty Stauffer and some cheesy background music.

When the Squirrel realized that ACfH wasn’t coming out to play, he tired of the game and disappeared. I suspect I haven’t seen the end of him though.

Just to give time to the other cats of the household, here’s a picture of Clueless sacked out on the new love seat. I’ve never known a cat to go quite so boneless when asleep.
