I do not effing believe this.

This arrived at the house while I was hospitalized. I had put this envelope on the lower priority mail pile, as it didn’t look like a bill or something that needed to be dealt with immediately, and so didn’t get to it until later this afternoon.

Dear Patient:

Your recent mammogram showed a finding that requires additional imaging studies in order to complete the evaluation. Most such findings are benign (not cancer). Please call ********** to schedule and appointment for these tests.

My life has become a medical joke. I’m still waiting for the punchline.

  1. One of the reasons I feel drawn to EMS is because makes me think about my own mortality and living the best life I can while I am able. There are some fates worse than death when it comes to certain disabilites.

Keep an eye on those stairs, OK?

(I have to admit, I watch some of those talk shows if nothing is going on. I also feel sorry for the kids after watching the parents act like idiots on TV. Makes me wonder what they are like off-camera.)

  3. Does it have to be a LITTLE bird?

I woke up this morning and heard a giant sqwaking TURKEY (terrorist bug-a-boo) who’s been on the US’s back for a while, telling us we’re all gonna die, ‘spectacularly’ no less.

But that mammogram… I hope everything turns out ok with that. The price of vigilance is having to deal with more false alarms. I sure hope this is one of them, Pali.
