Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!
Just got email – USA channel is having a Monk marathon on New Year’s day!
I’ll miss the morning episodes, but that still leaves the evening after I get home from Scranton.
This absolutely rocks!

I want a Christmas tree. I suspect I want one extra badly because it turns out I honestly shouldn’t get it. I can’t afford it. I’ve seen several fake trees I like, and most are triple digits. I thought maybe I could budget $40 for a nice, smallish tree. Forty bucks won’t even buy me…
First, I feel it is my civic duty to call this to the attention of all my Australian readers. This link appeared in my July edition of mini-Air, the mini-Annals of Improbable Research e-magazine, from the people who bring you the Ig-nobel awards every year (also known as the “Iggies”.): 2004-07-13 Aussie Catnip Controversy Are…
Actually, the title has nothing to do with anything, but then again, neither does this entry. Friday was supposed to be my “easy” day at work. The shifts end early Fridays right now, so I should be able to leave early myself. It didn’t work out that way. Instead of leaving around 3:30, I didn’t…
Don’t get me wrong. I love the new furniture. I love having new furniture. I am ecstatic about having something comfortable to sit on in the living room. But oh, how I mourn the loss of my computer cubby. Not that it was all that secluded from the rest of the room, but it was…
as in “Contemplating my …” I’m in a funk. I tried explaining it to The Socialist yesterday, but the process of exposition is made difficult by the fact that I can’t actually explain it to even myself. I think that, in part, it’s got to do with the fact that I’m now nearly eleven months…
When my alarm clock went off this morning, the Professor had already been up for several hours, grading finals. It’s unusual for him to be awake, alert and well rested when I get up. We talked for a bit, and, as I was getting ready to leave for work he gave me a hug and…
Hey Sal!!
Merry Xmas (again) and I am glad it went well. Sounds a relaxed day with lots of time to ponder.
Your Xmas Day sounds similiar to ours down under except we got the heat!!

ps….. a mini foxy we call here, is probably a fox terrier in the US, but a mini.
It’s amazing the things you learn about your siblings over the years! FOr instance, in the 80’s I learned that my older sister actually realized I existed.
wohoooo… glad it arrived, almost in time for chrissie. Thanks for letting me know 🙂
LOL, at the grey menace. I almost got this bath glove with little aussie animals on each finger. It was soooooo cute, but I knew it would be too tempting for your kids!! Figures if they got to it, it would not last a day!! LOL
This is one of the nicest entries I’ve ever read. Happy New year to you.
Can you or someone you know tape the early episodes for you?

I think your eve of wrapping, watching and playing with the cats was perfect.
Sisters…eeeeewwwww…..I have those.
I haven’t the air to waste changing their perception so I relish the tag of the silent dreamy child.("Honestly, Lilith, when are you going to grow up?")
I am glad you had a nice Christmas. And hope you have a Happy New Year.
