Clueless is in the Top Ten?????
It’s been over twelve years. Once in a while I’ll see one of the other cats, sitting silhouetted in a sunlit window or in shadows on a chair, and I think it’s him. You never stop missing them.

This morning’s presentation went beautifully, better than I ever expected. The kids in this rotation were involved, the words all came off my tongue the right way, and I know I got all the right points across. I talked for two hours non-stop before lunch, which was the time allotted for me, but I was…
Some copraphagic piece of humanity (who lacks a valid, two-parent birth certificate and is undoubtedly capable of conjugal feats of self-gratification that would defy the abilities of mere mortal assholes) has put a deep, eleven-inch scratch in the back bumper of my Prius. There is no circle of Hell suitable. There is no jury that…
Another sleepless night. I don’t believe that I’m fated to have two good nights in a row for a long while, more’s the pity. I tried to make crepes last night. The recipe seemed simple enough, and they hardly had any salt at all in them. To call the experiment “a disaster” would be a…
I’ve got a new project that I’ve been working on this week, making some beads that fit an earth-tone theme. Given my druthers I tend towards the cool colors, so working with warm, earthy tones is a bit of a new experience. I particularly was hoping to come up with something that would approximate an…
Palimpsest’s Rules for Your Daily Survival 1. The Two Flush Rule: When in a public bathroom, and the first flush turns out to be incomplete, flush again. Your adoring public does not adore all you produce. (This is a good idea in your private bathroom as well, but since that doesn’t offend me, I’ll leave…
Today I return to the workaday grind. It pains me to admit it, but this is almost a relief after the last two days of conference. I did have a good time attending the conference, but it had much more to do with the people I saw than the lectures I attended. Wednesday morning we…
He was such a good cat! I recall checking in on his blog a year or two ago, myself.
A tuxedo cat who has lately been seen in the neighborhood has been hanging out in our small backyard. He’s thin and scrawny, though, not like Clueless, who had obviously been "well cared for". :o) I saw him sitting on one of our patio chairs last week. When he saw me looking out the French doors, he skedaddled; but I saw him see me and run away again a couple of days later. It’s nice and safe back there, with our privacy fence. Poor thing had a scratch on his nose. Also, there are lots of birds and fish and sometimes other critters to look at.
Clueless had a lovely nature. It’s true, you never stop missing them. So many reminders, large and small.
I still miss my little tail-sucker, Kitten, and my bottle baby Taz.
