Well, I did it.
I dyed my hair. Nothing major, just a rinse to cover the creeping grey scourge. It’s still wet, so I can’t really evaluate the results yet.
I’m already afraid of what I’ll see when my hair dries, though.

I have survived the Big Move, as have the cats and my favorite Socialist. We are mostly living out of boxes at the moment, except for one of the cats, who has taken it upon herself to unpack her toys and scatter them about the new abode in an effort to lay claim to all…
Ever notice that after you’ve gone and called the doctor to get an appointment you immediately start to get better? It evidently works that way with cats too. O’Beast scarfed down breakfast this morning like the piglet he’s always been. He still needs his annual check-up for his heart condition, so I’ll drag him (over…
I’ve taken hundreds of pictures over the past few weeks in the Preserve. I’ve become absorbed in identifying everything as accurately as possible. I’m glad I’m doing this, as I’ve discovered that I have been a veritable warehouse of half-facts and out-and-out misinformation about some things (especially the smaller wildflowers). I’m discovering that some identifications…
This arrived at the house while I was hospitalized. I had put this envelope on the lower priority mail pile, as it didn’t look like a bill or something that needed to be dealt with immediately, and so didn’t get to it until later this afternoon. Dear Patient: Your recent mammogram showed a finding that…

*sigh* One of the Chaplains from work called me again today. They’ve called once or twice a week since all this started. It makes me feel like a wretched liar, talking to them. Once again I was informed that everybody was praying for me. They keep asking if I want them to come out so…
You realy should do work at the zoo. It’s obvious how happy the place makes you.
Andhaving guys around when moving furniture seems to mellow women on us for some reason. *grin*
Sounds fun. Our zoo is sad. It consists mostly of animals that just happened to be grazing there on the land when they built it (kidding).
I bet your hair looks great! I’m planning to do mine this week too. (of course, I’ve been coloring mine since I was 18!) 🙂 Enjoy your new color!
hi Salamander,
if i had stayed in ny, i was going to try to do my practicum at the bronx zoo. haven’t been to the zoo here yet, but now i’ve got to go this summer…

Finally got rid of the grey, eh Salamander? Feels great, doesn’t it? 🙂
