OMG! My Hair is RED!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first one of you who laughs is dead meat.

I colored my hair again last night. I’ve been trying to tweak it towards some red highlights, like it used to have in my younger days. This time I chose a color that (on the box) was pretty close to what I wanted. It was called “Dark Auburn Brown”. Sounded safe enough. Did the test on a clipping of my hair. It came out rather brownish looking. I figured I’d see the red highlights when I actually did my hair.

After it dried last night I checked myself out in my admittedly dim bathroom. Looked pretty good. Brown, with some red highlights. I was content.

Today, for the first time, people noticed that I’d colored my hair. I got several compliments, which was nice, though I’d have preferred a color that was a little less noticeable (up to now, every time I colored my hair, nobody noticed, which was just the way I liked it).

I just saw myself in the bathroom mirror here. I’m a freaking redhead!

What in the world have I done to myself??????????

  1. Life seems to take turns we never anticipated. It’s frustrating and annoying as hell, but it happens. I hope you find the life you’ve been wanting before it gets you too down. It’s out there – somewhere.

  2. It’s good to concentrate on positive things sometimes :o)

I understand how you can feel unhappy, especially when you’re exhausted. Work is obviously not satisfying you, so there’s something you have to make a hard choice on. Float a resume!

Taking classes at a university would do several positive things for you from my point of view, also. Occupying your mind with learning something of your choosing, if you’re like me, will be a pleasing thing to you. Also, your classmates and the others at the school will provide opportunities for social interaction. Not to mention you could end up with another job (for more money and with more vacation?) from what you learn. You will have a perfect excuse for going to a nice quiet library and be by yourself, too.

Will you be able to do this while at your current job? With your current hours, I doubt it. Would I advise you to leave work and go to school full time? I don’t think so, but sometimes we need to be bold. Am I a typical male concentrating on problem solving instead of discussion? *ahem* What can I do, it’s in the genes. I hope you figure out some way to be happier. All I know is, the answer to being unhappy isn’t always to carry on and bear it.

A lot of people get SAD around this time of year. Do you think you’re just feeling SAD?

  3. Hope you are feeling better soon. I enjoyed reading the list of the Professor’s good points. Also hope things improve at work, that has to be exhausting.

    froggy

  4. Love the KfH stuff. If you ever start a real fan club, i want a laminated membership card!!

Good to hear the prostive Prof stuff. Seems like a nice Joe! Drag him out to the show when we play up there!!

  5. Try not to be so down… If life fell into place as we always dreamed it would – there would nothing exciting or spontaneous about it… We would be even more depressed about ourselves and our lives that suicide might look like a better way to go if the boring mundane existance didn’t kill us first!!

I hope that lil pep talk helped!

    p.s – I love #4 thru #6 on your list….

    Cheers! = )

  6. Let’s just say that this is a bit more drastic than the look I was hoping for.

I went around all day looking like this and not realizing ….

  7. okay, okay…(grinning sheepishly)…couldn’t help but laugh when i read the notify email entry title! hehehe…

  8. I love those pictures! So cute!

And nah, not to worry about me burning myself out, I am one of the laziest people on Earth, I swear! The only stuff I get done is some of the online stuff I have promised to do.

    Love,

  9. Turned yourself into a redhead, apparently. 🙂 Might as well enjoy it. Or pay a lot of money to a hair specialist to strip the color and re-dye it your natural shade. I wish I could be a red-head. My hair is so dark that I’d have to strip it to start. :/

  10. Great pictures. Love the headlock one with the "bunny kicking".

Regarding the hair color: LOL—I have done that too. Finally took a mirror outside to see what it really looked like, and I freaked!

I like what Shay41 has to say. Only we can change our path. We just have to get frustrated enough to do it. That is the hard part 🙂

    Hang in there.
