What is an “Orc”?

What a lame day to have my hundredth entry on. A centennial should have something profound connected with it, and there are few profundities in my life at the moment. Sister the Elder will be stopping over this evening for instructions on how to take care of the cats while I’m gone next week. The…
I meant to work this into today’s entry somehow. I ran across a marvelous quotation this morning. A Truth that’s told with bad intent Beats all the Lies you can invent. -William Blake I just wanted to note it so I’d remember.
The Socialist wanted to know if I’d include a mention of last night in my diary. I explained that I keep those sort of memoirs in “private” entries. He seemed disappointed. So I figured I’d mention last night in a diary entry just for him. Not bad. Not bad at all. (grin)
“In the external scheme of things, this evening is as brief as the twinkling of an eye yet such twinklings is what eternity is made of.” – Fred Rogers, 1928-2003 Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood debuted in the US in 1967. I was eleven years old then, far too old to take any interest in what was…
I have a cheap, magnet-backed mirror in my office, affixed to the hanging credenza situated behind my desk. Below it are arranged the following tiles: look here see behind the glass seek a beauty that lies beneath that which the blind eye sees Take a box of jigsaw puzzle pieces. Sort through the box, find…
Long time, no substantive update. That didn’t used to be the case. When The Salamander was relatively anonymous, making an entry was like poking a note into a bottle and chucking it into the Atlantic. Chances were that the note wasn’t going to be read, and if it was it would be by an anonymous…
3.5 hours long? Hmm, we will definitely need an aisle seat as I am positive none of the kids have a 3.5 hour bladder capacity.

Sounds like a must-see for me, but I guess I’ll have to leave my orc costume at home….;-P

That’s one long movie! Glad it was worth it.
There’s a new poll on music at the open forum. Votes needed!
Oh man, I’m SO going to dress as an orc. That’s so stupid!! 😀
Someone came dressed like an ORC?! Ohhh, that’s bad, that’s VERY bad….
Hi, by the way. I read your diary all the time but I don’t know if I’ve ever left you a comment saying hello 🙂 So, hello!
Water 🙂
What is an orc?
lol @ StrangeBrew. I don’t know what an orc is either.
The Encyclopedia would go with you Pali.
I’ll go!!! Is there a Concorde flight between Seattle and you? That’s the only way I’d get there in time!
OK, maybe not.
Keep asking, I’m sure you’ll find someone. If not, do you have a Boys & Girls club near you? Maybe you could donate the rest of the tickets so some kids who otherwise wouldn’t be able to go can see it. Or take it to a local radio station for them to give away.

Wow! I’d ask what an Arda is, but I’m afraid you’d reach through the screen and slap me silly. lol!
Wish I could go with you.
Go =)
I’d go with you but it is approximately a 10 hour drive I think. If I can make a plane reservation, I’ll let ya know *giggles*
Followed the link and sped thru text,

You have free tickets and I cant go with you just because I moved 1500 miles away?!?
*SOB*

oh, what a pain when people back out of things
i saw rotk last night and loved it. for some reason, though, i think my favourite of the 3 is still number 2. not quite sure why
perhaps it has something to do with the fact that now lotr is officially ended, and that is kind of a sad thing 🙁
