Butter ‘n Beads

“If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?”
-Steven Wright

Kibbles ‘n Bits it ain’t, but the beads sure are little itty bitty things.

Satan’s Little Fart Cloud’s new medication requires that I open up a ten milligram capsule of itraconazole, dump out the little beads and divide the into three equal portions. The beads then get mixed with butter (carefully, so as to not rupture any of the beads), and then fed to the Little Fartlet, followed by a meal. The picture shows the empty capsule, a mixed butter and beads dose on the left and the butter and beads separate on the right.

I’m finding it most straightforward to prepare three doses at a time, and save the extra ones in the fridge for later use. The little glass bowls in the picture are pinch bowls that I ordinarily use for cooking, about an inch across on the bottom, so you can get an idea of exactly what quantities I’m working with here. Amazing what $4.40 will buy you at the pharmacy these days, n’est pas?
