Waiting for the Cookies to Cool
Yeah, I know. Nothing for a month, then overwhelming drek. I found this while waiting for my cardamom cookies to cool enough to glaze; I just hope I can embed it on Dear Diary:

I hit the library last night. And found out that they’re closed until the eleventh of this month. The sign on the door said they’re putting bar codes on all the books. So I did the next best thing – I went to Borders Books. I had every intention of grabbing something off the best…
These are the animal organizations that get my contributions: my local SPCA (check the phone book or web to find where they are local to you) The Morris Animal Shelter – a local, nationally reknown shelter A local no-kill cat shelter (there are probably no-kill shelters in your area as well) Humane Society of the…
THIS took Best of Show at Westminster this year? THIS? Ch. Surrey Spice Girl It’s a miniature poodle for crying out loud. I could never do small animal private practice. I’d lose half my clients by laughing the patients out of the waiting room ….
I’ve been kicked out of work. My boss talked to HR today about my little health problem. I have to see the company doctor sometime Monday, and the company doctor has to confer with my regular doctor before I’m allowed back to work. They’re afraid I am a “liability” and if anything happens to me…
I took this picture of my garden on June 3, then kept forgetting to post it. The garden looks far different now. You can’t even see the cleome in the back at this point, but now it’s starting to really take off. The Canterbury Bells are on their last legs, though I’d read they’d keep…
One hundred and thirty-five thousand names. Over forty-four September 11ths in the space of less than two-and-a-half hours. Americans think that September 11th shook the world. The “Christmas earthquake” did shake the world. And yet we remain USA-centric, even to the point of calling this the “Christmas earthquake.” It might have still been Christmas in…
Welcome back to the big wide world!
Hope the bugs are dead dead dead and gone gone gone.
Nasty little creeps.
Oh, she does look fetching in her lilac sweater!
I’m glad she’s able to enjoy some freedom again. And fingers crossed for good results from cultures.
Awwww. For a fart cloud, she looks awfully cute in that sweater!
I guess the HSUS needs money to donate to those celebrities they recruit for their ads. *snort*
Go, little gray kitty! Ditch that infection!!!!!
I agree with writes_stuff. I would be even more outraged if I didn’t like Sarah MacLachlan and if they paid her. (Did I spell her name right?) I really have no idea if they do.
Speaking of spelling, I think you mean the Humane Society, not the Humans Society. ;o) Yeah, it’s obvious; but I was confused at the beginning so I thought I’d give you the opportunity to edit it before someone else got here. :o)
I will make absolutely certain that any donations I make, or friends make, will go to our local canine or feline rescue organizations! Thanks for the info! (And for the record, every time I see that commercial with the pathetic looking animals and that damnable Sarah McLachlan song, I mute it and purposefully look away! I despise that bit of audio-visual mammalian horror show. It’s like looking into an open, festering wound.)
I <3 SLFC’s new sweater, too. Lavender is her color!
OMG on the video. Evil has officially migrated over to your cat. Those eyes!!! *gasps in horror*
that was hilariously funny!!! thanks for making me laugh!!!
