Those of you so inclined, send a prayer or a condolence card to the manager of my apartment complex. She just sat through fifteen minutes of me ranting about last night. It wasn’t her fault, it was beyond her control, she apologized beautifully and promised me reimbursement for my flowers, and I was still so…
It’s been a fine weekend and confirms my love of October. Today was the kind of day that makes fall the best season of all. It was bright, just a tad nippy out, and the leaves just had a hint of red and yellow to them. Foliage season is coming, but fall is definitely here….
Itâs just that time of yearWhen we push ourselves aheadWe push ourselves ahead – Dar Williams, “End of Summer” This is the window that gives me my first view of the outside world each morning. It’s a northerly view, and through it the first rays of day light stream in from the right and incoming…
to Salamander’s humble diary “The View from Under My Rock” is TraumaMama911. For this achievement, I’m afraid there’s no prize what-so-ever, but I’ll see if I can’t fix that for the next time. Thanks to everyone for playing, and stay tuned for our next winner at level 5000.
I’m still experiencing some lingering disappointment that I have to wait until Monday to get my paracentesis. I slept better last night than previously, but I still didn’t get a good night’s sleep. I think I’m finally just succumbing to exhaustion. I stayed up a little longer than I intended, after finding out that “Enterprise”…
“Very little of the great cruelty shown by men can really be attributed to cruel instinct. Most of it comes from thoughtlessness or inherited habit. The roots of cruelty, therefore, are not so much strong as widespread. But the time must come wherein humanity protected by custom and thoughtlessness will succumb before humanity championed by…
"On the day Agnes died…" Is this Nadia? The name threw me for a loop when I thought another character was being introduced.
I like it though!
Alli
I was going to make the same comment as Alli….
I also enjoyed it! I don’t know that I could have done that. I tend to ramble on and never get to the point. Great job!!!
Megan
I liked it too! It drew me right in.
Damnit, still can’t access your friends only entries :(.
Ah, those ARE a lot of constraints!
AND having to name the characters in meaningful ways…. could set me off into the looney bin.
I ALREADY have a hard time naming in my stories….
But it’s true, writing to parameters DOES make you stretch. Paramiters? Paramaters?
Specific requirements! There!
Hope you get a good grade.
Very nice. Well done. I like the name Nadia. My bf’s father died of Leukemia. Some rare form not discovered until it was much too late to do anything about.
Best of luck with your writing class!
I too liked it, however it does not "feel" you are writing this.
I love your usual style…long, rambling and stops along the way about all the little interesting facts you normally *ramble* about.I love it when you stop us readers in mid sentence to smell the roses.
I was left feeling *I want more*. Does that make sense? Sort of got the bread without the filling.
I echo what Elf said.
