Waiter, there’s a condom in my soup January 15, 2004 Sydney Morning Herald http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/01/14/1073877897143.html Upmarket US restaurant chain McCormick & Schmick’s has, according to this story, settled a lawsuit by a woman who claimed she suffered severe physical and emotional distress when she found a rolled-up condom in her soup, on the day the trial…
Dr. Fell called back at 8:10 last night. He and my transplant surgeon have agreed that until we get the results of the staging tests back we should start treating topically. Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma starts out like a generic skin rash, and eventually gets a raised, red and angry look to it. I’ve got a…
I love Celtic music. This song is one of my favorites, and seeing as how it’s October 1st, I’m going to please myself and note the lyrics. The rest of you, feel free to be bored. I’ll try to be more interesting and less maudlin later. Perhaps this lulluby will help me sleep tonight. If…
Oh, I had plans for last night. Water the seeds, check the gardens for weeds, pay the bills, pull together a real meal for myself, comb the cats (one of whom left two rather spectacular hairballs for me to clean up in the middle of the carpet yesterday). But no, these didn’t happen. I got…
I note with minor amusement that my last entry updated with the date of 25 Jun 05. Since I permitted the system to date the entry for me, I can only assume that I’ve somehow gotten ahead of myself. If the automatic date can be trusted, I’ve got four more months before I catch up…
The hurrier I go, the behinder I get. How in the world did I ever let a week elapse without making an entry? Granted, this diary was never intended to be a daily menu of menus, weather and bowel movements. What I wanted was a way to chronicle my activities so I’d have a record…
"On the day Agnes died…" Is this Nadia? The name threw me for a loop when I thought another character was being introduced.
I like it though!
Alli
I was going to make the same comment as Alli….
I also enjoyed it! I don’t know that I could have done that. I tend to ramble on and never get to the point. Great job!!!
Megan
I liked it too! It drew me right in.
Damnit, still can’t access your friends only entries :(.
Ah, those ARE a lot of constraints!
AND having to name the characters in meaningful ways…. could set me off into the looney bin.
I ALREADY have a hard time naming in my stories….
But it’s true, writing to parameters DOES make you stretch. Paramiters? Paramaters?
Specific requirements! There!
Hope you get a good grade.
Very nice. Well done. I like the name Nadia. My bf’s father died of Leukemia. Some rare form not discovered until it was much too late to do anything about.
Best of luck with your writing class!
I too liked it, however it does not "feel" you are writing this.
I love your usual style…long, rambling and stops along the way about all the little interesting facts you normally *ramble* about.I love it when you stop us readers in mid sentence to smell the roses.
I was left feeling *I want more*. Does that make sense? Sort of got the bread without the filling.
I echo what Elf said.
