Went to see “Spiderman” yesterday afternoon with The Prof and MWUFFLTHB and had a grand time. We got there a tad late for my tastes, but still got decent seats (probably the last three seats all together in the theater though). Mild spoilers follow. If you’re a purist and haven’t seen the movie yet, don’t…
I write this while sitting at a table for one, with a $5.00 David Weber book from the damaged table in my hands. An $8.00 paperback copy of The Oxford Dictionary of American Usage and Style and a $30 new release called Transplant sit at my left elbow. I’m in the University of Pennsylvania Bookstore’s…
Yet another draining session. This time we got 9.3 Liters out of me. My abdomen is really sore at the moment – it will take time for my guts to reconfigure themselves back into place. My lab scores continue to fall closer and closer into normal ranges. My bilirubin is still high (though not as…
The vet called yesterday to see how Clueless is doing. I wasn’t home, but returned the call this afternoon, when I got a spare moment. With no problems on the bloodwork, the list of differentials becomes rather slim. Biggest two possibilities are Inflamatory Bowel Syndrome and lymphoma. I wouldn’t wish either on CW, but I…
I added the Professor to my AAA membership last night in anticipation of our trip to Oregon on August. The car rental is far less expensive if we’re both on AAA, and I’ll feel better if he’s on it anyhow. The idea was originally to get him his own Triple A membership, but it was…
"On the day Agnes died…" Is this Nadia? The name threw me for a loop when I thought another character was being introduced.
I like it though!
Alli
I was going to make the same comment as Alli….
I also enjoyed it! I don’t know that I could have done that. I tend to ramble on and never get to the point. Great job!!!
Megan
I liked it too! It drew me right in.
Damnit, still can’t access your friends only entries :(.
Ah, those ARE a lot of constraints!
AND having to name the characters in meaningful ways…. could set me off into the looney bin.
I ALREADY have a hard time naming in my stories….
But it’s true, writing to parameters DOES make you stretch. Paramiters? Paramaters?
Specific requirements! There!
Hope you get a good grade.
Very nice. Well done. I like the name Nadia. My bf’s father died of Leukemia. Some rare form not discovered until it was much too late to do anything about.
Best of luck with your writing class!
I too liked it, however it does not "feel" you are writing this.
I love your usual style…long, rambling and stops along the way about all the little interesting facts you normally *ramble* about.I love it when you stop us readers in mid sentence to smell the roses.
I was left feeling *I want more*. Does that make sense? Sort of got the bread without the filling.
I echo what Elf said.
