Please keep me in your thoughts. I’m leaving for the hospital now. They found a liver for me.
1) I was given a nice bottle of California Merlot for Christmas. Merlot is not my favorite, though I will drink it happily when it is a gift. I have discovered that a generous wedge of lime squeezed into a glass of Merlot miraculously turns it into something that rather transcends description. Of course, it…
The third straight day of rain … I suppose it’s needed since this has been one of our driest springs on record, but the grey days are just playing into my mood. The Professor is teaching a night class for the first half of the summer. It’s Tuesdays and Thursdays, until 10:30. I’ve been chiding…
What kind of tree are you this morning? I got word on the MRI of my disc last Thursday, while attending a two-day seminar in the Big City. I don’t have a full rupture, just a big bulge at C6-C7. It’s a slightly unusual position, but common enough. The opening for the disc has become…
Tried to call the apartment complex that we want to move to over the weekend (as per their instructions) only to find that the offcie was unmanned over the weekend. Which means we still don’t know if there’s a three bedroom opening up soon. And of course I forgot to bring their number with me…
Her name is Selkie, after the Celtic mythological creature. She’s a terror and a sweatheart. Thank heaven The Professor is on a vampire schedule at the moment, so Selkie has somebody to keep her amused while I try to sleep. The Clueless Wonder is a little taken aback, but is getting used to sharing his…
"On the day Agnes died…" Is this Nadia? The name threw me for a loop when I thought another character was being introduced.
I like it though!
Alli
I was going to make the same comment as Alli….
I also enjoyed it! I don’t know that I could have done that. I tend to ramble on and never get to the point. Great job!!!
Megan
I liked it too! It drew me right in.
Damnit, still can’t access your friends only entries :(.
Ah, those ARE a lot of constraints!
AND having to name the characters in meaningful ways…. could set me off into the looney bin.
I ALREADY have a hard time naming in my stories….
But it’s true, writing to parameters DOES make you stretch. Paramiters? Paramaters?
Specific requirements! There!
Hope you get a good grade.
Very nice. Well done. I like the name Nadia. My bf’s father died of Leukemia. Some rare form not discovered until it was much too late to do anything about.
Best of luck with your writing class!
I too liked it, however it does not "feel" you are writing this.
I love your usual style…long, rambling and stops along the way about all the little interesting facts you normally *ramble* about.I love it when you stop us readers in mid sentence to smell the roses.
I was left feeling *I want more*. Does that make sense? Sort of got the bread without the filling.
I echo what Elf said.
