The Socialist had to take me downtown for check-up number 5 at Big City Hospital this morning. Hard to believe, but it’s been eight weeks now since I got the new liver, and I’ve been home for six weeks. Today’s landmark decisions to come out of the follow-up: – I get to drop two of…
I don’t know a whole hellofalot more now than I did before the doctor’s appointment this morning, but at least things are moving now. They took enough blood out of me to leave me anemic for a month, and we’ve got me scheduled for a PET scan first thing the morning of December 31st. The…
I’m discovering that the Little Black Shit has gotten rather good at finding non-food sources to eat. She has always been an incorrigible plastic bag eater, and we have to make sure that any plastic bags/wrap/etc. are thrown away immediately in a covered trash can. Still, LBlS will find snippets of illicits in the damnedest…
Bob Keesham, who played Captain Kangaroo, died today. His show was a huge part of my childhood. It started the year I was born, and was still running when I was in my twenties. Believe me, there were quality shows for kids long before Sesame Street. Mr. Greenjeans, Mr. Moose, Bunnyrabbit, Miss Frog … now…
Although all cat games have their rules and rituals, these vary with the individual player. The cat, of course, never breaks a rule. If it does not follow precedent, that simply means it has created a new rule and it is up to you to learn it quickly if you want the game to continue….
Well, the perkiness has worn off. The nausea hit last night and won’t let up. I suspect the diuretic is playing havok with my electrolytes at the moment, which would cause this queasiness I’m currently enduring. I really shouldn’t be complaining about this at all, since others are enduring far worse symptoms than a jumpy…
"On the day Agnes died…" Is this Nadia? The name threw me for a loop when I thought another character was being introduced.
I like it though!
Alli
I was going to make the same comment as Alli….
I also enjoyed it! I don’t know that I could have done that. I tend to ramble on and never get to the point. Great job!!!
Megan
I liked it too! It drew me right in.
Damnit, still can’t access your friends only entries :(.
Ah, those ARE a lot of constraints!
AND having to name the characters in meaningful ways…. could set me off into the looney bin.
I ALREADY have a hard time naming in my stories….
But it’s true, writing to parameters DOES make you stretch. Paramiters? Paramaters?
Specific requirements! There!
Hope you get a good grade.
Very nice. Well done. I like the name Nadia. My bf’s father died of Leukemia. Some rare form not discovered until it was much too late to do anything about.
Best of luck with your writing class!
I too liked it, however it does not "feel" you are writing this.
I love your usual style…long, rambling and stops along the way about all the little interesting facts you normally *ramble* about.I love it when you stop us readers in mid sentence to smell the roses.
I was left feeling *I want more*. Does that make sense? Sort of got the bread without the filling.
I echo what Elf said.
