I just got my schedule for the foreign animal disease seminar I’m attending Thursday. There’s a catered lunch there, which I didn’t know about. A real lunch, on the State. Not one of those tables with graze-as-you-go doughnuts and stale coffee like they usually provide, but a sit-down and waiters in funny looking uniforms bring…
My last visit for a check up at the transplant center was January sixth. They decided then that they didn’t need to see me for four months, and scheduled me for an appointment on May fourth (next Tuesday). It would have served as a one-year check up as well. Note that by the use of…
Candle, I’m not entirely sure if I agree with the test results. Some of the answers are right on the money. I am painfully practical, I like to be organized (which is not necessarily the same as being a neat freak, as my apartment will attest). I tend to be rational rather than emotional, although…
The Socialist took yesterday off from work so he could take care of arranging to get his car fixed. I was rather impressed with his insurance company – less than twelve hours after he got hit his car was in for estimates. The Socialist, of course, spent most of the day admiring his half-empty glass…
NON-U.S. OLYMPIANS ASKED TO UNITE BEHIND AMERICA BY FINISHING BEHIND AMERICA Park City, Utah – Saying there could be no greater blow to the enemies of freedom than to see the United States win gold, President George W. Bush today called upon non-U.S. Olympians to unite behind America by finishing behind America. Satirewire ♀♂♀♂♀♂♀♂♀♂ Damn…
Kitten from Hell might be growing bigger, but she isn’t gaining much in the way of grace or stealth (or intelligence, I fear). We ordered Chinese last night. My excuse was that I’m still feeling too wiped to cook when I get home. Our order came in a big brown grocery-style bag with twine handles….
"On the day Agnes died…" Is this Nadia? The name threw me for a loop when I thought another character was being introduced.
I like it though!
Alli
I was going to make the same comment as Alli….
I also enjoyed it! I don’t know that I could have done that. I tend to ramble on and never get to the point. Great job!!!
Megan
I liked it too! It drew me right in.
Damnit, still can’t access your friends only entries :(.
Ah, those ARE a lot of constraints!
AND having to name the characters in meaningful ways…. could set me off into the looney bin.
I ALREADY have a hard time naming in my stories….
But it’s true, writing to parameters DOES make you stretch. Paramiters? Paramaters?
Specific requirements! There!
Hope you get a good grade.
Very nice. Well done. I like the name Nadia. My bf’s father died of Leukemia. Some rare form not discovered until it was much too late to do anything about.
Best of luck with your writing class!
I too liked it, however it does not "feel" you are writing this.
I love your usual style…long, rambling and stops along the way about all the little interesting facts you normally *ramble* about.I love it when you stop us readers in mid sentence to smell the roses.
I was left feeling *I want more*. Does that make sense? Sort of got the bread without the filling.
I echo what Elf said.
