I completely missed the 45th anniversary of the premier of original Trek last week. For others who care, this is a great little article:

The way I see it, I’ve got a choice. 1) I can let the cherries hit pavement, and then let the birds and squirrels deal with the fruit and then let the rain deal with the bird and squirrel droppings. -OR- 2) I can put a canopy up. They tend to have sloped tops that…
One of the people who left a comment yesterday was surprised that I’d met and married a Jewish man while living in the middle of the “Bible Belt”. In reality, I’m not quite in the midst of the “Bible Belt” (although there are days when it feels like I am). I live just close enough…
I’ve been working on a couple of entries/projects: – I’ve taken a good number of pictures at the local preserve, and hope to take some more today or tomorrow. Leaves are peaking here now, and even on an overcast day some of the oranges and yellows glow of their own accord, as though some of…
The friend I went to Boston with has nineteen cats. I think I may have mentioned this in my diary previously. She’s an absolute sucker for a cat in need. The clinic where she practices at took in a homeless kitten while she was in Boston last week. They named it “Twenty” in her absence,…

Life is too short to persist in that which brings no happiness. Anyone who understands can tell the Dutch Scotsman that my nom de plume will not blight his computer screen from this day forward. I am done with that sector of cyberspace, and any sector with associated links. The playing field belongs to him….
I hadn’t thought about the editing/pacing aspect of it before, but the author’s absolutely right.
A great list. I’m passing it on to BassPlayer.
this is the show that turned me onto sci-fi fantasy. i think i’m the only one in my family to have watched it. i used to make my sister laugh when i’d "sing" the closing theme. great article…have to watch "a taste of armageddon" now…
What a lovely walk down memory lane! Thank you! I was lucky, my Mom loved TOS, so I got to watch them all as a kid. One of my boyfriend "tests" has always been whether or not they enjoyed TOS. If they hadn’t ever watched, I’d turn it on and watch him watching the show. A bad reaction to the show, Shatner bad acting criticisms aside, meant that relationship was a no-go.
