Talking in circles.
Illness takes its toll on even the best relationships. I am not the person I was this time last year. I don’t have the stamina I once did. I don’t have the patience I once did. I find that I often have less to talk about than I once did; it seems pointless somehow to…
Searching for “Turtle tanks”.
Over the weekend, I had at least a dozen visitors to my diary who arrived through my Salamander entry of 6 May 2002 entitled “New apartments, turtle tanks and work” because they were using a search engine looking for key words “turtle tanks”. I have no idea what gives here, but I strongly suspect that…
The Texas Tragedy
I’ve read quite a few diary entries now concerning the mother who killed her five children in Texas this week. I am amazed at the absolute lack of compassion so many are displaying in this situation. What has happened is a horror and a tragedy. I cannot begin to fathom what could possibly have driven…
Screw ups, Porphyria, and a Dr. Dr.
“If a cat spoke, it would say things like, ‘Hey, I don’t see the problem here’.” ~ Roy Blount,Jr. Oh gads, what a day it has been so far. We ran into a problem here at work, which was totally our own fault. The substitute for my regular government contact who oversees our procedures and…
Vacation Commences
I’m glad we decided to go down to the airport Friday night instead of early Saturday. It was far more relaxing to book the room at the airport hotel and then only have to cross the bridge to get to our check-in counter than it would have been to get up extra early, drive to…
Woodchuck Cider?
You don’t know Woodchuck Cider, Brewski??????
Bravo! The Swedish Chef cracks me up every time.
It reminds me of when I took high school band trips on the school bus and we’d all sing our parts together to the pieces we were working on.
It didn’t sound as good as the muppets, though. 😀
LOL! I miss the Muppets.
Animal! A – ni – mal!
I was in band in high school, along with all the other high school geeks. We played Stars and Stripes Forever and in a fashion very similar to this we would sing our instruments’ parts on bus rides. It was fun and I can still do it, although never in the same range as the piccolo I usually played for this song. But the sousaphone players couldn’t sing in their instruments’ range, either. I was lucky to have been a versatile player. Sometimes I played flute or piccolo and sometimes I played one of the saxophones. Heck, I even played drums or glockenspiel on occasion. It just depended on what we needed at the moment.
Oh for the old Muppet Show days….
